This Privacy Policy describes how Diffmonitors (“Diffmonitors”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and otherwise processes information in connection with diffmonitors.com, our applications, APIs, live demo, dashboards, emails and any related services (together, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection and processing of information as described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier.
- Monitoring configuration and content. URLs, endpoints, request settings, ignore rules, conditions, notification destinations and any other information you enter, together with the responses, snapshots and changes the Service retrieves and generates for you.
- Communications. Messages you send us (for example to info@diffmonitors.com), feedback, survey responses and support requests, including their contents and metadata.
- Payment information. If paid plans are offered, billing details are collected and processed by our payment processors.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data such as pages viewed, features and buttons used, demo interactions (for example the example, cadence or tab you choose and the host name of URLs you try), referring pages, campaign parameters, timestamps and session information.
- Device and connection data such as IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and operating system type, language, screen size and device identifiers.
- Cookies, local storage and similar technologies used by us and by our analytics and advertising providers, including Mixpanel (product analytics) and the Google tag (advertising measurement).
Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from sign-in providers (such as Google), analytics and advertising partners, service providers, publicly available sources and other parties, and combine it with information we hold.
2. How we use information
We may use the information we collect for any of the following purposes:
- to provide, operate, maintain, secure and support the Service, including fetching, storing and diffing the endpoints you monitor;
- to authenticate you, manage your account and personalize your experience;
- to analyze usage, measure performance, troubleshoot, and develop, improve and test new and existing features;
- to market and advertise the Service, measure the effectiveness of our advertising and build audiences, subject to your choices;
- to communicate with you about the Service, including service, security, administrative and promotional messages;
- to detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents and other harmful or unlawful activity;
- to comply with law, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the rights, property and safety of Diffmonitors, our users and others;
- to create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized information, which we may use and share for any lawful purpose; and
- for any other purpose described to you when the information is collected or with your consent.
3. How we share information
- Service providers that process information on our behalf, such as hosting and infrastructure (Amazon Web Services), authentication (Google), product analytics (Mixpanel), email and communications, payment processing and customer support.
- Advertising and analytics partners that collect information through cookies and similar technologies on our site to measure and improve advertising. They may combine it with information they collect elsewhere under their own privacy policies.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required or appropriate to comply with law or legal process, to respond to government requests, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property or safety of anyone.
- Business transfers. In connection with any merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy or similar transaction, information may be disclosed and transferred as part of that transaction.
- Affiliates, and other parties with your consent or at your direction (for example the webhook, Slack or email destinations you configure).
- Aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you, without restriction.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. Google user data
If you sign in with Google, Diffmonitors receives only your basic profile information (name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier). We use it to create and secure your account, to identify you in the Service, to communicate with you and to understand how the Service is used. We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide or improve the Service, to comply with law, or as part of a business transfer described above. Diffmonitors’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Cookies and your choices
- Use Privacy choices in the site footer to allow or turn off analytics and advertising measurement in your browser. Visitors in Europe are asked before these are enabled, and Google consent mode keeps advertising cookies off by default in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
- You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings; parts of the Service may not work without them.
- You can manage Google’s advertising personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in them; we may still send service-related messages.
- Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals; there is no common standard for them and we do not respond to them beyond the controls above.
6. Retention
We keep information for as long as we consider necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, and we may keep aggregated or de-identified information indefinitely. During the current preview, account and monitor data is stored mainly in your browser’s local storage; clearing your browser data for diffmonitors.com deletes that copy.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee the security of any information. You provide information at your own risk.
8. International processing
We and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising. To make a request, email info@diffmonitors.com. We may need to verify your identity and may decline requests as permitted by law. Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as operating, securing, analyzing and promoting the Service) and our legal obligations as legal bases for processing.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Third-party sites and services
The Service lets you monitor, and links to, websites and services operated by others. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or security of any third party, including the endpoints you choose to monitor. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies.
12. Changes
We may change this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes are effective when posted, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
